Changes in Craft Education

چکیده

In Latvia, the aim, content, and name of subject craft education have changed several times. The most recent transformation to “craft education” has been made following general reform, which gradually implemented since 2020. This study aims investigate how purpose content learning in Latvian comprehensive schools as a result this reform comparison previous period. A qualitative was carried out by analysing normative documents interviewing design technology teachers (N = 9) with at least 10 years experience. document analysis shows that goal teaching shifted from using an opportunity improve quality living environment through creative involvement techniques producing valuable objects for oneself society process. significant change is taught Moreover, every pupil learns all techniques; previously, students chose textile or woodwork metalwork grade 5.
